Like the Monotipo, the S81 was built to convey a technical message to the clientele and was presented at the Turin Motor Show of 2000. Though its appearance is that of a moving vehicle in every respect, its a static prototype, created by means of highly sophisticated techniques pertaining to the field of modeling rather than that of prototype construction. Accordingly, this mock-up/prototype is meant to illustrate the level of definition that can be achieved with times and cost levels that are decidedly interesting compared to those of a moving prototype and, at the same time, it is meant as an alternative proposal for the process of design and development of a new vehicle. It is also available to customer companies that can have it examined by company technicians at own their premises.
