McLaren Automotive has officially announced the upcoming launch of the McLaren W1, a supercar that will serve as a successor to the legendary McLaren F1 and the groundbreaking McLaren P1™. The W1 will be unveiled on October 6, 2024, at 13:00 BST, a date that coincides with the 50th anniversary of McLaren's first Constructors’ World Championship win in Formula 1, celebrated by Emerson Fittipaldi's 1974 World Drivers’ Championship victory.
The name W1 is a tribute to McLaren's racing legacy, embodying the spirit of competition that has defined the brand. According to CEO Michael Leiters, the W1 represents the ultimate expression of McLaren supercars, built on the principles of performance that have long characterized the marque. Leiters emphasizes that the W1 will push the boundaries of what a supercar can be, establishing new benchmarks for the segment, just as its illustrious predecessors did.
As excitement builds for this next-generation supercar, automotive enthusiasts and McLaren fans eagerly await a vehicle that promises to redefine performance and innovation in the world of high-end automobiles.
