The world premiere of the Lexus LF-NX Crossover Concept took place at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The concept aimed to explore the potential for a compact crossover within the Lexus model range and showcased the brand's leading position in full hybrid drive technology.
The LF-NX concept was powered by a new variant of the Lexus Hybrid Drive system, specifically tuned for SUV performance. Its exterior design reflected a further evolution of Lexus’ L-finesse design language with a strong interpretation of the Lexus spindle grille, expressive signature front lighting, and unique corner styling.
The profile of the LF-NX featured muscular wheel arches, a classic Lexus side glazing profile, and a steeply raked tailgate creating the silhouette of an athletic coupe. The rear of the concept boasted highly articulated lamp clusters and a sharp, aerodynamic trailing edge, mirroring the front wing detailing.
Finished in a striking Brushed Metal Silver exterior color, the LF-NX concept's interior mirrored the exterior's bold and sculpted design. The cabin featured a driver-focused cockpit with touch-sensitive electrostatic switches and a new touch pad Remote Touch Interface (RTI) design.
The premium crossover credentials of the LF-NX were reinforced by the interior’s carved metal surfacing, Sunrise Yellow / Black leather upholstery with contrast stitching, and sophisticated blue instrument lighting.
The Lexus press conference announcing the LF-NX concept was scheduled on September 10 at 13:00 CET on the Lexus stand in Hall 8 of the Frankfurt Messe. The concept was met with excitement and anticipation, showcasing Lexus' commitment to innovative design and technology.
