The "Tresaire" was a two-seat sports car that was built to showcase C&C's innovative convertible system - the C&C "Skylite Convertible Hardtop System". It was first introduced at the 1990 North American International Motor Show under the name "Intrigue Convertible Hardtop System", which was later changed to "Skylite".
C&C, known for their expertise in designing, engineering, and assembling specialty vehicles, particularly convertibles, was pushing the boundaries with this new roof system. The Tresaire concept vehicle was created from scratch to highlight this system, serving not only as a show car but also as a high-performance, drivable testbed for C&C's roof development.
David L. Draper, President and CEO-C&C Incorporated, expressed pride in the project team's efforts, stating that in less than six months, they conceptualized, designed, clay modeled, and completely fabricated the entire vehicle to showcase the unique Skylite Convertible Hardtop System along with other innovative features.
The Tresaire was powered by a Chevrolet V6 engine with a capacity of 4950 cc, producing 350 hp at 5500rpm and 496 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. It had dimensions of 4600 mm in length, 1830 mm in width, 1170 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2440 mm, weighing 1280 kg.
Overall, the Tresaire and its Skylite Convertible Hardtop System not only demonstrated C&C's advanced convertible technology but also highlighted their ability to quickly respond to manufacturers' needs and market trends. With their established resources and expertise, C&C could offer creative solutions in specialty vehicle design with a fast turnaround time.
