Pioch

FRANCE

time-calendar.png 1951

This microcar was meticulously crafted by Mr. Pioch, a skilled individual hailing from Chuelles. The compact vehicle boasted an overall length of 3 meters and 10 centimeters, with a width of 1 meter and 35 centimeters, and a wheelbase spanning 1 meter and 65 centimeters. It was engineered to accommodate a load of up to 200 kilograms along with two passengers. Equipped with 25.3-inch tires, the cyclecar demonstrated a remarkable speed range of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour.

Under the hood lay an NSU 250cc two-stroke engine, complete with four speeds, seamlessly aligned with the rear wheel. The power was transmitted through a chain drive system, while cooling was efficiently managed through deflector flaps. Constructed primarily from 40 to 42.5 steel tubes, the chassis was skillfully welded and reinforced to ensure durability and stability.

The cyclecar's rear suspension featured oscillating forks supported by ball bearings and suspended on rubber rings, while the front suspension employed swinging arms mounted entirely on ball bearings. Both systems were enhanced with rubber ring shock absorbers and friction shock absorbers, contributing to a remarkably smooth ride quality and impeccable handling.

Inside the cabin, occupants enjoyed an unobstructed floor space, with a steering wheel gear lever for intuitive control. The hand brake lever protruded conveniently from the edge of the dashboard, ensuring swift and precise braking. Starting the cyclecar was effortless, facilitated by a retractable kickstarter positioned behind the dashboard.

Mr. Pioch proudly attested to the cyclecar's reliability and performance, having personally traveled over ten thousand kilometers with unwavering satisfaction.
