Mercury [6] - One Concept

MERCURY ONE - ONE FOR THE ROAD

The Mercury One offers a design alternative for a compact touring sedan for the '90s. Unquestionably part of the Mercury family, the four-passenger car incorporates ground-effects skirting.

The fully flush windshield, backlight and side glass help improve aerodynamics and eliminate wind noise in the Mercury One. Other exterior styling features include flush mirrors, aero door handles, roof-mounted antenna and unique, sculpted six-spoke wheels. Custom amethyst pearl paint was used.

The interior of the Mercury One features sculptural, flowing surfaces that will revolutionize automotive interiors of the '90s. There are four ergonomic, fully adjustable, power leather bucket seats with special fabric inserts. The driver's seat is unique from the passengers' seats. All instrument panel pod controls are easy to reach.

Ford and Mazda combined talents and developed the fiberglass Mercury One compact car concept. Outstanding aerodynamics was achieved by flush glass all around and smooth integrated body panels. The Mercury One indicated the design philosophy of future Mercury Tracer and Ford Escort.
