The Mercury Concept 50 — which will gets its Canadian debut at the Montreal Auto Show — is a look ahead at what a small-specialty front-wheel-drive vehicle of the future might look like. The car is a two-door hatchback that would be targeted at young (18-30) singles or young, two-income couples. It is designed to be offered as either a fun-to-drive, affordable yet sporty car, or as a performance-oriented car with such functional features as a small, multi-valve V-6 engine and all-wheel-drive. The Concept 50 has a 260cm (102.6") wheelbase, an overall length of 452.5cm (177.4") and an overall height of 128.5cm (50.6").
