The unique Ranchero Scrambler show car was created from a standard production 1969 Ranchero by Ford — a high-style pickup that rides like a car and works like a truck.
Scrambler design incorporates several front and rear features of the Fairlane Super Cobra, another Ford Division show car appearing on the current auto show circuit.
Scrambler has an oval two-part grille of egg crate design. A through-the-hood ’’shaker" air scoop allows cool air to rush directly into the air cleaner of the powerful 428 Cobra Jet engine.
The show car's extended roof panels create a unique tunnel back effect. Scrambler's tailgate contains a built-in air spoiler and full width taillights. The car has eight-inch-wide styled wheels with wide oval F 60 by 15 Polyglas tires.
Scrambler has a special ivy gold pearl exterior finish with a color-keyed vinyl roof. High-back bucket seats also are color coordinated in a dark ivy vinyl with an ivy gold accent stripe across the upper part of the seat back. Matching dark ivy nylon carpeting continues the color scheme.
Like the standard production Ranchero, Scrambler features thickly-padded bench seats, a safety two-spoke steering wheel, recessed instrument cluster, and vinyl seat and door panel trim.
Unique extras with Scrambler are "his and her" mini-scrambler motor bikes mounted in the pickup box.
