Called the “Apartment,” this customized Ford Econoline was chopped seven inches and contained a TV set, stereo, paneling and wood-beamed ceiling stained to accent the Palomino-parchment fabrics. Ford engineers shoehorned a 289-cubic inch V-8 into the engine bay, and linked it to a three-speed automatic transmission.
