The striking new Swift Super 1600 Concept car was revealed at the Paris Motor Show on 23rd September.
The revealing of the Super 1600 Concept car coincided with the world launch of the new Suzuki Swift at the Paris Motor Show, officiated by the President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Hiroshi Tsuda.
The new Swift Super 1600 Concept is a radical departure from the preceding version, with both the styling and driving dynamics designed to reflect the company's sporting character.
Hirotaka Ono, the board member responsible for Suzuki's European and American operation, revealed that Suzuki's past three year involvement in motorsport has influenced the new Swift road car.
"The development of the new Swift road car has been a direct result of our rally experience over the past three years.
"Everything in this Swift comes from the rally; the performance, durability and ease of driving."
Suzuki is currently enjoying success in the Junior World Rally Championship with the Ignis Super 1600.
Suzuki has claimed 4 victories in 5 rounds of the JWRC to date, and English driver Guy Wilks currently holds the lead in the competition heading into the next round at the Rally of Italy from 1st-3rd October.
The Swift Super 1600 is scheduled to compete in the Junior World Rally Championship in the second half of 2005.
