DAIHATSU MOTOR CO., LTD. (Daihatsu) announces that P.T. Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM), Daihatsu's Indonesia subsidiary, is exhibiting the A-Concept together with show models based on commercially available vehicles, along with a range of technologies, at the 19th Indonesia International Motor Show, held in Jakarta from Friday, July 22 to Sunday, July 31.
Under the theme "Driving Heart to Green Living," ADM will express Daihatsu's corporate stance at this show. The intent is to supply automobiles grounded in the lifestyles of Indonesia's people by applying its small car technologies that achieve high fuel efficiency, resource conservation and affordable prices.
The highlight is a world-first unveiling of the A-Concept. This concept car was developed with the use of Daihatsu's expertise in small car manufacturing cultivated through its mini vehicles business. In thoroughly studying the needs within the country, ADM took the initiative in planning and designing this model with the aim of establishing it as a close partner for the user by offering excellent design, large interior and trunk space, and fuel efficiency encapsulated in a compact body; all of which introduces a new stage for Indonesian lifestyles.
On July 23, the first day the event was opened to public, ADM announced and released the fully redesigned SIRION. This fully redesigned model adopts a unique interior and exterior design for attaining a higher level of fuel efficiency and safety performance. The price ranges from 139.9-150.9 million rupiah (approximately 1,315,000-1,418,000 yen, including tax). The car is manufactured by Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua), Daihatsu's production base in Malaysia, exported to Indonesia and sold through PT Astra International Tbk.
