The CITYMAGG project is the goal of the evolution of the idea of means of transport that have by now become an absolute necessity: from the "desire to be distinguished" of the Eighties, to the "necessity of being" of the present decade, we are now going to have to choose the "man-sized" car.

This is the important concept on which the idea is based of developing a MULTI-PURPOSE CONCEPT CARE which is very small in size, dynamic and stimulation, as was the commitment to make everything necessary tailor-made for man, concentrating everything a modern car should offer in a very small space.

Combing the requirements of space, economy and straight for wardness with the user-friendliness, comfort, safety and versatility we are used to, the result is the CITYMAGG project: but that's not all: the ingenious ex travagance of the cyber-technological design, immediately gives the sensation of entering the world of the rel ativity of forms and space, succeeding in producing an atmosphere of a modern approach to retro features, also becoming one with the aesthetic personality of the near future of architecture.

It wasn't easy for Garnero, who wanted a car that would be strikingly original, to come up with the style of the new CITYMAGG project. But the inventive singularity shines out through the pronounced curves of the little car, combining the height, which is higher than the average conventional utility vehicle, with the curved styling of the windscreen, opposed to the geometrical, straight roll-bar. The very low bonnet, just above the door line, is separated by a pronounced cavity, from the curving which seems to spring up and detach itself from the rest of the car, then however mating with the slender styling of the windscreen and with the roll-bar protection bars, which it stylistically counters at right angles. The headlamps, direction indicators, wing mir rors and.,with them, the styling of the dashboard and instrument cluster, reflect the oval shaping and the curv ing theme that dominates the overall styling.

So. this MINI space wagon with its audacious styling for a car addressed at new needs and new habits, is in tended to adapt the necessary change to our way of life.

The car developed in this way, hosts the vehicle part of the new FIAT 600 and can accommodate either the 899 cc, power unit derived from this model converted to methane or an electric engine to offer alternatives which epitomise the CITYMAGG project's conceptual philosophy.

The accurate study details and highlights the FUNCTIONAL and manufacturing modularity (Garnero's conceptual expression): a fundamental blend for developing other versions that can be adapted to all requirements. The basic concept of MAGGIORA's city car is therefore that of a very simple and reliable chassis/passenger compartment, while at the same time being made using all the possibilities offered by technology and design, thus maximising the use of light materials (aluminium and composites) to achieve the best ratio between weight, sturdiness and safety.

Manufacturing ductility makes it possible to develop different versions: the ADVANCED one (suitable for leisure time) is called DROLL which in both the English vocabulary and in Piedmont dialect means quaint and amusing. Everything that can impede straight for wardness has been simplified, enabling use from the golf course to the beach, to city centres, in all weather thanks to the possibility of closing the passenger com partment on this version which has been designed to be open. In addition, still for this version, the rear com partment can hold another two persons with opposed seating to become a four-seater.

But the highest expression of design modularity is to be found in the JOB version: in fact all the adaptations necessary are possible to equip the car for the technical-specialist use of Company fleets because of the rear compartment and the area at the driver's side which total a capacity of about 1 cu.m. In addition, the ex tremely compact dimensions allow a broad range of uses that can be adapted to every type of situation. Of course, the CITYMAGG project will be available in many different colours, but all recollecting the ecological world of nature, which after all are more akin to it.

This is the explanation of how exaltation of the tailor-made-to-man theme makes it possible to develop versions designed for all fields of use in just 2.65 metres of length thereby making everything become re ally relative.
