During 2010-2013, Audi conceived the Skorpion, a high-performance sports car concept positioned above the Audi R8. Drawing inspiration from the successful R18 e-tron quattro racing car, its exterior reflects racing aesthetics. Aerodynamically, it takes cues from the Audi DTM racing car, featuring a streamlined passenger cell for optimal airflow. The adaptable aerodynamic design ensures minimal air resistance at top speeds and maximized downforce during braking and cornering. Despite promising technical parameters, including a range of powerful engine options and hybrid capabilities, development ceased, leaving the Skorpion as a captivating but unrealized vehicle study.
