RCZ HYbrid4 CONCEPT CAR: RESPONSIBLE SPORTINESS
Intensifying all of the senses of its driver, the RCZ is intended to be dynamic and responsible, offering, from its launch in the spring of 2010, a range of engines offering an innovative compromise between performance and protection of the environment.
Continuing this philosophy, the study of an RCZ powered by the HYbrid4 technology is unveiled during this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. This 2+2 coupé, a true melting pot of emotions, is based on the same power train as the 3008 HYbrid4 which will go on sale in the spring of 2011:
a 2.0 litre HDi FAP diesel engine of 120 kW (163 bhp) at the front and an electric motor of 27 kW (37 bhp) maximum at the rear.
Thisrefl ects Peugeot’s desire to offer this technology in different vehicles across its range. Vehicles which may be very different (crossover, coupé…), based on different platforms, but with a common goal: to offer renewed driving enjoyment.
This RCZ HYbrid4 concept car offers:
a level of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions previously unheard of in the world of sports cars: 3.7 litres/100 km or 95 g/km of CO2, proof that sportiness and reason are two ideas which no longer conflict;
a dynamism suited to the positioning of the vehicle and the expectations of its customers with remarkable performance (a combined potential power of 147 kW (200 bhp), maximum torque of 300 Nm at the front and 200 Nm at the rear);
a chassis which is even more effective as it benefits from the multi-link rear suspension which makes up the rear module of the Hybrid4 technology;
four-wheel drive, favouring peace of mind, safety and driving pleasure.
Finally, the RCZ HYbrid4 concept car embodies the promise of great driving feedback. Renewed sensations, obtained in particular by easy, agile, precise driving, compatible with the urban world.
So, this study confirms the exclusive, modern, dynamic and responsible nature of the entire RCZ range.
This RCZ HYbrid4 concept car illustrates more than ever a new stage in the history of Peugeot’s “lifestyle vehicles”…
contributing to propelling the Marque into a future which promises to be even more fascinating.
