Created in March 2002, Madness Design owes its raison d'etre to the will of its leader to put his experience at the service of professional actors and institutions.
In this objective and at its inception, Madness Design was consulted by the Pole Motor Burgundy * to set up and run a programme of recovery of the automotive industry Bourguignonne, with the priority objectives:
For that a program based on the creation and execution of a motor vehicle demonstrator was launched and given Madness Design.
The historic automobile Bourguignon known to various experiments including Dijon "Terrot "Cycles - Mopeds - Automobiles 1887-1970, automobiles "Cottereau" 1898-1939'and a single copy of a coach Dijonnais "Lhuillier" conducted in 1953. With particular reference to society body "Carmétal" 1950-1956, which produced a thirty (estimate), Coupe Sport 2 / 4 seats on a chassis Dyna Panhart called "Rafale". The ambition of Madness Design was to revive "haute couture car", like the great coach french Burgundy and the beginning of the century. With a body "a la carte" made on the basis of an existing chassis, as per the wishes of the future owner in this case the Pole Motor Burgundy.
A concept ''former'' with means of communication ''current''…
In order to ensure its promotion, its recovery and especially its legitimacy, Madness Design has a place in its specifications, a communication plan particularly innovative (awarded by ANVAR) through a study of interactive market is a repositioning real time. In this objective, a specific website was created. The latter would allow not only discover the genesis of the project, step-by-step, but also and above all, through a line survey located at heart of the project site, therefore, to give everyone the opportunity to participate in decisions on some key phases as the choice of design for example, expressing an opinion with the aim of''stick''to a more just demand and the market needs.
In launching the programme, a dozen companies demonstrated their ambition to integrate the project (AFT Plasturgie, Alias France, CRST, Bourbon Genlis, Group footprint, Madness Design, Metal Deployed, Michelin France, Plasto, Sellerie Dellage, Sodemo, Serviware, France Team Dynamics, TRW, Valeo ,...) each specialising in their respective fields (milling, plastics, optical, rims,…). Under this project, Madness Design was commissioned to undertake an inventory of expertise and a knowledge done through a meeting and an interview with each company wishing to participate in the project by performing:
As a result Madness Design has modeled a project taking into account the needs and problems of each organization and managent a project to serve their developments. As the design, scanning, and final assembly.
Thus was born the vehicle demonstrator Sequana, which was presented to the World Motor Paris in September 2002 under our own booth (Hall 4 / Allée A / Stand 247). Note that this issue has made 1 447 753 entries.
Technically, the Sequana resumed the chassis and mechanical environment of the Opel Speedster. And final piece of this project, the choice Madness Design is naturally focused on this chassis Aluminium from Lotus Engineering (ditto Lotus Elise). The specification was sticking to a more just the architecture of the vehicle of origin, without neglecting the security features assets and liabilities. Thus, from the start of the study, an optimization of a possible "process" in production and approval has been achieved.
