Hongqi presented the Tiangong S-Concept at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show as a low sports coupe and the latest design study from its technology-focused Tiangong sub-brand. Its exterior retains the central red graphic associated with Hongqi, accompanied by an illuminated front treatment described as Electronic Light Veins and narrow headlights influenced by the form of an awakening lion.
The passenger compartment follows a space-cockpit theme, while the electronic architecture combines cabin and driving functions under a central control system. Hongqi states that the concept meets Level 2 combined driver-assistance requirements and can support solutions developed for Level 3 and Level 4 automated driving. An AI-controlled chassis is also intended to monitor road conditions and adjust the vehicle before it reaches uneven surfaces.
Hongqi has not provided dimensions, powertrain specifications or performance figures in the published presentation. The S-Concept instead introduces the design, intelligent-driving architecture and manufacturing ideas being considered for future models, including a parallel assembly method described by the company as an “unboxing” process.
