Dongfeng EQ Reborn Concept

2026

Dongfeng Aeolus presented the EQ Reborn Concept at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show as a modern reference to the company’s EQ240 military vehicle introduced in 1975. Defined as an intelligent light off-roader, the concept combines an upright rectangular body, short overhangs and a high ground clearance with a wide stance and large all-terrain tyres. Its flat roof, vertical sides and squared wheel arches retain the functional proportions associated with the original Dongfeng utility vehicle.

The front is formed around a pixelated display panel capable of presenting information, accompanied by narrow lighting elements and a substantial lower bumper. Additional equipment is carried on the roof, including several drones intended to support outdoor activities. Dongfeng developed the EQ Reborn around an eastern off-road lifestyle concept, with smart technology intended for family exploration as well as commercial applications.

Only the exterior and selected interior details were shown at its premiere. Dongfeng has not disclosed the vehicle’s dimensions, powertrain, battery capacity, motor output, driving range or production plans, leaving the EQ Reborn as a design study within the future development of the Aeolus range.
