Doran Motor Company was based in Sparks, Nevada, and was known for producing a unique three-wheeled electric vehicle called the Doran. This vehicle was developed from a set of plans sold by Rick Doran, who played a significant role in its conception.

The Doran featured an appealing design that incorporated a motorcycle-type power package, characterized by a single rear wheel. Its body was constructed using fiberglass over a foam core, which contributed to its lightweight and aerodynamic profile. The vehicle was powered by a Prestolite motor that delivered 28 horsepower, supported by a battery system consisting of nine batteries.

Although the Doran was not widely produced, it represented an early attempt at creating an electric vehicle that combined innovative design with practical functionality.
