The Scott Sociable was built by the Scott Autocar Co, which was an offshoot of the company that built the Scott motorcycle.
The genesis of the Sociable was a World War 1 three-wheeler that could be fitted with a machine gun. A military contract never eventuated, so Alfred Scott decided to make a civilian version.
The Sociable featured a triangulated tubular frame and fibreboard body, and was powered by a 578cc two-stroke engine, with final drive by shaft to the offside rear wheel. Scott's death in August 1923 removed the driving force behind the car, and production ended in 1924, after about 200 had been built.
