The HSR project was a British kit car initiative originally devised by Pat Jackson in 2006 in collaboration with MK Sportscars. It was based on the company’s Indy spaceframe chassis and featured a Healey-inspired body. Although MK displayed the prototype at several shows, the project stalled and lay dormant for years. Around 2014 Jackson revived the concept independently, redesigning the body to fit a wide range of Lotus Seven-style chassis. A test car combined the lightweight body with a Honda Fireblade motorcycle engine, producing striking performance while offering an inexpensive way to rebody existing kits.

The project passed through several hands, including an appearance at the 2015 Stoneleigh Kit Car Show under Jetson, part of Ian Rowley’s Kit Part Direct operation. In 2016 it was acquired by Karl Dunmore of KAD Fibreglass Products, a company noted for composite manufacturing. KAD offered bodyshells for the HSR from £900 and announced plans for a dedicated spaceframe chassis. This positioned the HSR as an affordable and flexible kit, suitable either as a conversion for existing Lotus Seven-style cars or as a complete build when paired with KAD’s future chassis.
