IFR Automotive, S.L. (trading as Aspid) was founded by Ignacio Fernández Rodríguez in Reus, Catalonia, Spain. The company was formally established on 30 November 2003.

Its first car was the Aspid SS, revealed in 2008 and sold from about 2009. It is a lightweight two-seater (~740 kg), powered by a 2.0 L Honda F20C engine. There were two variants: one naturally aspirated (~270 hp) and one supercharged (~400-404 hp). The 0-100 km/h time was under 3 seconds.

They also proposed a model called the Aspid GT-21 (Invictus), shown in 2012.
