Borbála was a Hungarian automotive brand founded by Loth Lajos in Budapest during the late 1980s. The brand operated from 1986 to 1990 and aimed to provide a sports car experience similar to that of the Lotus Seven. Loth, an enthusiast of specialist cars, sought to create a vehicle that would appeal to Hungarian consumers.
To realize his vision, Loth utilized components from the Ijda 1500 model, incorporating its engine, gearbox, and suspension into a new tubular-framed construction. The project gained traction when a plastics company recognized a marketing opportunity and assisted Loth in completing the first Borbála vehicle. However, despite the initial promise, the company faced financial difficulties, which ultimately led to the cessation of Borbála's operations.
