Rabag-Bugatti

GERMANY

time-calendar.png 1922-1926

Bugatti was a German car up to 1918, but when Molsheim became part of French territory Ettore Bugatti looked for a German factory and set up an agreement whereby the Brescia model would be manufactured by the Union Werke of Molsheim. Two models were made - the 1453cc 6/25PS and the 1495cc 6/30PS, corresponding to the Brescia and the Brescia Modifie. The engines and chassis were made at Mannheim, while bodies came from Dusseldorf. Body styles ranged from open sports cars to saloons.
Rabag was part of the Stinnes conglomerate, and when that collapsed in 1926 production of the Rabag-Bugatti came to an end. Approximately 100 were built.
