Country: France

Collet was a French automotive brand founded by Michel Collet in Paris. The company operated briefly from 1969 to 1970, during which it focused on the production of a unique two-seater sports car. Collet was inspired by racing go-karts and a drive in a contemporary Marcadier Barquette, which motivated him to create a vehicle that combined performance with distinctive design.

The flagship model, the Collet MCI, was introduced in 1969. It featured a wedge-shaped fiberglass body that encased an intricate tubular frame structure. The MCI utilized running gear sourced from the Renault 8, including a rear-mounted 1.3-liter Gordini engine. With a weight of only 700 kg, the MCI was capable of achieving a theoretical maximum speed of 124 mph (228 km/h). Despite its promising specifications, only one unit of the MCI was ever produced, limiting its impact on the automotive market.

After the brief existence of the Collet brand, Michel Collet continued to pursue his passion for automotive design and craftsmanship, creating what he referred to as motoring art from his workshop in Paris by the late 1990s.
