Cardinet / Cardina

1900-1906

Cardinet was a French automobile manufacturer that operated from 1900 to 1906, specializing in electric vehicles. The company was officially known as Compagnie Française des Ventures Électromobiles and was based in Paris.

During its brief existence, Cardinet produced a diverse range of electric vehicles. The initial models featured batteries mounted beneath the frame, but starting in 1901, the design evolved to conceal the batteries within the body of the vehicles, resulting in a more streamlined appearance.

Cardinet's offerings included both open and closed town carriages, showcasing innovative designs such as a landaulette equipped with front-wheel drive and a hansom cab that utilized two motors to drive the rear wheels. Despite its short operational period, Cardinet contributed to the early development of electric vehicle technology in France.
