Magnum MK5 was a low-volume, street-legal, track-focused sports car project presented in October 2013 by Magnum Cars, a Montreal-area racing-car constructor established in 1968 by Jean-Pierre St-Jacques and later led by his son, racer Bruno St-Jacques. The barchetta-style two-seater used a mid-mounted Suzuki Hayabusa four-cylinder with a six-speed sequential gearbox, quoted at roughly 247–250 hp, in a carbon-composite body with a listed dry weight near 545 kg. Announced performance figures included 0–100 km/h in about 3.2 seconds and a top speed around 240 km/h. The model was positioned for international “track-day” customers, with an indicative price of about US$139,000 and an initial plan for a small production run in Quebec.
Following its online reveal on October 30–31, 2013, the MK5 made public showings in early 2014 at the Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance and appeared at the 2015 Montreal International Auto Show. Period coverage emphasized Magnum Cars’ roots in Canadian single-seater racing and the company’s intent to blend race-car maintenance simplicity with road legality. Subsequent production outcomes were not clearly documented.
