VENTURI GLOBAL CHALLENGES

The "Venturi Global Challenges" consist of a series of technological, but also human, challenges through which the brand intends to demonstrate its progress in the field of electric propulsion.

Each challenge, which takes the form of a specific mission, takes place on a different continent and enables the company to set new records while demonstrating the reliability, energy efficiency and robustness of Venturi electric vehicles under extreme conditions.

MISSION 01 – WORLD SPEED RECORDS

Mission 01 is a 4-year program lasting from 2009 to 2012, carried out in partnership with OSU (Ohio State University) and enabling Venturi to challenge speed records and set new benchmarks in the field of high-performance electric vehicles.

WORLD SPEED RECORD – ELECTRIC VEHICLE FITTED WITH A HYDROGEN FUEL CELL

The first leg in this program took place in September 2009 on the Salt Flats of Bonneville (Utah). With an electric driving chain powered by a fuel cell, the Venturi "Jamais Contente" attained the record speed of 487 km/hr (World Speed Record ratified by the FIA).

NEW WORLD SPEED RECORD FOR AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE

Representing further development of the record-breaking vehicle of 2009, the Venturi "Jamais Contente" arrived in Bonneville in August 2010, fitted with batteries instead of fuel cells.

Once again, Venturi smashed a world speed record for an electric vehicle by attaining an average 495 km/hr over 1 km in both directions (FIA Record - subject to ratification), officially registering a top speed of 515 km/hr.

Venturi thus became the manufacturer of the fastest electric vehicles in the world.

The Venturi "Jamais Contente" 2010, also known in the USA as the "Venturi Buckeye Bullet", is an electric vehicle of over 800 hp. Like its predecessor, it is the worthy heir to another record-breaking electric vehicle, Camille Jenatsy's "Jamais Contente" which, in 1899, was the first vehicle in the world to cross the symbolic threshold of 100 km/hr, all means of propulsion combined (petrol or steam).
