NORTH AMERICAN DEBUT OF DYNAMICS AND LIGHTWEIGHTING STUDY AT PEBBLE BEACH CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE
‘DLS’ UNDERTAKEN BY SINGER VEHICLE DESIGN WITH WILLIAMS ADVANCED ENGINEERING AND OTHER PARTNERS
A Relentless Pursuit of Excellence through a Lightweight Philosophy
- Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to display the results of the Dynamics and Lightweighting Study for first time in North America
- Private Reception and Public Reveal to be held during Pebble Beach Weekend
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif., August 14, 2018 – Following the successful premiere of two of the most recent Porsche 911s reimagined by boutique restoration house Singer Vehicle Design at the recent 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed -- each showcasing the results of a three-year Dynamics and Lightweighting Study (DLS) -- the project makes a North American debut on the grounds of the world famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance®, with a private viewing on Thursday, August 23, 2018 and a public showing on the globally renowned concept lawn of Pebble Beach Concours, Sunday August 26th. DLS is a client-inspired collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering -- part of the Williams Grand Prix Engineering Group -- and a formation of technical partners, in pursuit of the most advanced air-cooled Porsche 911 in the world.
"This year marks a series of milestones for Singer Vehicle Design,” said Rob Dickinson, founder and creative director for Singer. “Not only are we celebrating our 10th year of business, but we have delivered our 100th commission and are now able to present the results of the Dynamics and Lightweighting Study – undertaken with an alliance of iconic partners. We are humbled and honored to be shown upon the world stage at the Pebble Beach Concours – marking a continued global presence for Singer.”
As announced in November 2017, the project began when Singer client and Porsche enthusiast Scott Blattner, requested lightweighting and high-performance enhancements for his 1990 Porsche 964. To meet the goals defined in collaboration with Scott, Singer engaged Williams and globally-renowned technical partners to engineer a selection of restoration and modification services strongly oriented toward lightweighting and dynamic gains.
