Ron Automoviles is a new Mexican company which has just announced the development of two sporty models. The first one – the R-07 - is being designed around the lines of the classic Lotus Seven. Currently, the model is in prototype construction phase with the chassis being built. This modern classic model will be made around a steel chassis dressed in a fiberglass bodywork. When completed, the production of the car will be limited to number of just ten examples.
The second model to emerge in the workshops of this small company is named RXX. A super extravagant automobile will be a tandem sportscar with the driver sitting in front of the driver. Very angular yet rounded and curved bodywork will be made of carbon fibre and it will be mounted on a lightweight aluminum chassis. As per initial plans, the cockpit of the RXX will be produced using carbon.
The Ron Automoviles team seeks to keep the weight and centre of gravity for the RXX as low as possible in order to assure F1 experience, dynamic handling, acceleration and cornering.
This flagship model of Mexican company will be offered in three versions - RXX, RXX-S and RXX-R – which will differ in finish, equipment and power.
While the company is busy now with the development of the R-07, there are no information yet regarding power sources, launch date or price of the RXX. It may take time, if not years, until a functional model is ready. Anyhow, if this Mexican extravaganza will look much like in the official renderings, it might be worth waiting for it to hit streets and tracks. We'll see.
