hennessey venom gt is among the fastest, most powerful, the most expensive and rarest roadcars in the world. powered by a mid-mounted 7.0-liter twin-turbo engine this lotus elise/exige-based machine provides extraordinary specifications like 1200+ hp, acceleration from 0 to 96 km/h in small 2.5 seconds and top speed reaching 400 km/h.
anyhow, no matter how these figures look like, the hennessey itself is known as a company finding incredible limits and accepting challenges where most say „stop“. having upgraded, reconstructed and tuned a whole bunch of mighty roadcars like vipers, camaros, cadillacs to name a few, the company is taking one step further. a big step indeed. the american company has just announced that they are working on the venom gt2.
it is important to mention that the new model will not be a replacement for the „young brother“ venom gt. this machine will be a real street beast equipped with a staggering 1500hp engine resulting in a 1,2kg/hp power-to-weight ratio. this means that the estimated top speed is unimaginable 287 mph – 461 km/h! if this could be proved, then the venom gt2 would be the fastest car in the world, leaving the bugatti veyron in shame.
only time will show if the king will lose its crown to americans. the only facts known to date are that the contender will come late in 2013 for a price of $1.25 million us dollars. total production will be only 7 units, while venom gt and venom gt spyder will made in 29 and 5 (for 2013 year) examples respectively.
