The E-Vade was the brainchild of David Walter, who was the engineer for the Anzac class frigate HMAS Ballarat. Design work commenced in 2002, with the first parts being constructed in 2003.
The E-Vade had a mild steel space-frame chassis clothed by a fibreglass body, and weighed 950kg. The engine was a V6 Nissan mounted longitudinally behind the driver, developing 300KW.
