The JJ Special, built in 1951, was a custom sports car designed for high performance, comfort, and economy. Powered by a modified Mercury 24-stud engine with high-compression heads, ported manifolds, and a special carburetor and ignition, it featured advanced components like air-cooled brakes, K.E.805 anti-roll bars, and Andre shock absorbers. The professionally built aluminum body was fully equipped with weather gear, a heater, and modern Lucas electricals. Capable of 0-60 mph in 9.6 seconds and a top speed of 115 mph, it offered 21 mpg. Despite its competition-ready design, it was never raced.
