Jo Weijman, an inventive car enthusiast from Haarlem, Holland, built a unique homemade three-wheeler powered by a 400cc Ilo engine from a prewar Tempo. Working for a Ford dealer in Amsterdam, Weijman had easy access to Ford parts, which he used to construct the vehicle. Despite its creative design, the car was known for being unstable on the road, a challenge further compounded by the fact that Weijman didn’t have a driver’s license.
One of the most striking features of the car was its navy blue steering wheel, a distinctive touch that set it apart visually. However, Weijman soon parted with the vehicle, trading it for a motorcycle and a sewing machine. The three-wheeler, registered with the plate XG-81-18, remains a testament to his ingenuity, even though it was a short-lived chapter in his life.
