DO2 “Future Digital Cockpit Experience” (completed in 2011, BMW Sponsored). DO2 focused on the development and implementation of a digital reconfigurable vehicle cockpit for the DO1 vehicle. It demonstrated a new Human Machine Interface (HMI) and center stack design that allowed for personalized, intergenerational driver interaction with various vehicle, infotainment, and climate controls. Multiple usability tests were conducted including students from the automotive engineering, computer science, design, and human factors programs.
