The Yankee was a fibreglass-bodied sports car based on a 1948 Ford frame. Suspension was also Ford based, and designer Warren Shiber recommended the use of a Ford V8 engine, although any engine could be fitted. The colour was impregnated into the fibreglass, with the car weighing approximately 907kg (2000 lbs) and selling for $US2495. Upholstery was ribbed Naugahyde trimmed in brightly coloured plastic. A plaque attached to the dasboard guaranteed that each Yankee could do 160 kmh (100 mph).
