Percival Cooper Cloyd ran an a car repair shop ar 1110 Third Ave South in Nashville, who decided that if he could repair cars, he could build them as well. He produced a touring car, runabout and roadster powered by a 4-cylinder 40 hp engine, coupled to a 3-speed transmission. The price for the Cloyd '40' was $1,400. Production was minimal.
