Car manufacturing was always a sideline for Horsfall & Bickham Ltd, whose main business was the production of textile machinery. When an order for 2000 Horwicks was made for use as London taxis, the directors decided that expansion of the car-making division would be to the detriment of their textile business, thus ending production in 1909. Horsfall & Bickham continued in the textile field until 1961.
